Un accessorio che non può assolutamente mancare nel ciclismo sono i guanti. Sono importanti d'estate, figurarsi in inverno: è scontato. Di base, i guanti da uomo per il ciclismo proteggono dalle escoriazioni causate da eventuali cadute: sono infatti le mani, per riflesso, le prime a pagarne le conseguenze.

E poi garantiscono un grip migliore sul manubrio, di qualsiasi tipo esso sia. Sulle manopole o sulle leve, non cambia: le mani nude sudano, scivolano e non reggono la presa. Bisogna aiutarle, anche per evitare fastidiose vesciche.

I guanti invernali da ciclismo, in più, sono imbottiti per mantenere le mani al caldo. Funzionano come i normali guanti, ma sono ottimizzati per l'attività: anche all'interno, sono rivestiti di materiali che mantengono ferme le mani, in modo da evitare che si muovano, il che porterebbe ad una perdita di equilibrio. I guanti invernali da ciclismo per l'uomo sono realizzati in materiali antivento e idrorepellenti, e spesso sono provvisti di chiusure in neoprene sul polso per evitare l'entrata dell'acqua.
