The replacement battery for the Sram eTap groups can be used as an alternative to the main one if the charge is almost exhausted and there is no time to restore the energy.
Being an original spare part, it can also replace the old battery if, after its long benefits, its autonomy is decreasing.
The same unit is interchangable between front and rear derailleurs.
