Mavic Crossmax Elite 2018 MTB wheels, synonymous with high technology and simplicity!
The idea behind the Mavic Crossmax Elite 2018 MTB Wheels is simple: what is the wheel component that can really make a difference without having to spend a capital?
After decades of in-depth analysis of the wheels and testing on the most challenging cross-country trails, it became clear that this is the circle.
Making it as light as possible reduces inertia by offering an extremely dynamic pedal stroke.
Inspired by the best
Mavic started from the lighter aluminum rim, the Crossmax Pro series. This was then subjected to the ISM4D (Inter Spoke Milling) treatment, leaving only what was strictly necessary to guarantee the rigidity of the rim.
The new rim without hooks with an internal width of 22 mm is completely UST Tubeless and offers better traction and lower risk of punctures, allowing you to fit and remove the new tires more easily, without losing the whole day. Subsequently, Mavic has fastened these lightweight rims to the tried and tested QRM hubs, known to remain smooth over long distances. We have also used our ITS4 freewheel system, as it offers a very quick engagement that reinforces the dynamism of the wheel.
Light and fast
Ultimately, the Crossmax Elite is the best in its class: 1.635 g in the 27.5 "version and 1.715 g in the 29" version.
Available with the ultra-low rolling resistance tires Pulse Pro UST Ready 2.1 "or 2.25".
Fast and light quality components
- The Maxtal rim is lightweight and, at the same time, robust with an internal width of 22 mm and an innovative profile

- The ITS 4 freewheel system ensures faster accelerations
Simple and reliable construction
- 24 profiled spokes with straight head and double thickness at the front and at the rear
